A woman and her two lovers have been arrested in Shanghai after they allegedly killed the woman's another suitor, dismembered his body, and cooked them in a pressure cooker to destroy evidence, Shanghai prosecutors said. The woman, Zhao Lin, with a husband and son, said it was her former lover Li Gang who choked her new lover Cao Liang to death on March 26, 2010.

Zhao said she loved Li the most among her lovers and planned to marry him, so she asked Cao to an apartment Li rented on Pingliang Road, Yangpu District at 9pm for a break-up. Zhao lied to Li that Cao was just a friend, but the two men soon broke into a fight. "Blood came out from Cao's nose and mouth when Li took him by the throat and Cao stopped struggling soon," Zhao told the prosecutors.

Zhao then called Hu Yu, another lover, from Pudong to help to destroy the body. The three spent two days to cut up Zhao's body into pieces and cooked them in a pressure cooker. Afterwards, they put the remains in a bag and changed three taxis on March 28 to go to a park in Pudong and buried the bag there. They burnt the blood stained clothes and threw the kitchen knife, pressure cooker and some remaining bones into a small river. A police assistant found two bones which looked like human bones near the river bank on March 31 and called the police. The three suspects were detained on April 2. However, Li said it was Zhao who used an electric wire to electrocute Cao to death. Li said he left his apartment when he saw Zhao was having dinner with Cao, but came back 20 minutes later to find Cao had been killed. "

I left my apartment because Zhao said she wanted to talk with Cao alone," Li said. Hu who was the first caught by the police said it was Li and Zhao killed Cao jointly while he just took part in the dismembering and cooking work. He tipped off the police to catch Li and Zhao in the apartment where they killed Cao. Hu said Zhao called to tell him she and Li killed Cao because Cao cheated her money and threatened to tell Zhao's son that his mother had many l! overs. H u then went to help Zhao because he loved her. Hu said Li asked him to give a call every day to report safety after they threw the bodies and separated. The Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People's Court will hear the case soon.
